On Sunday morning we got up and made our way back to Kobe. We were going to Kobe stadium, the one that was built for the 2002 World Cup, to see a Japanese rugby union game between the Kobe Steelers and Sanyo Knights. The meeting place was at a Combini shop near the stadium, where we had a quick lunch while waiting for Philip's friends to join us. After everyone arrived, we made our way to the stadium. While looking for a ticket office, a homeless looking man approached me and said something in Japanese so I looked at Philip and he said "Ah, just ignore him." He then went to one of the others who found out he was offering us tickets, for free. It didn't make much sense but we accepted them nonetheless. A major flaw, I thought in a semi professional league. We also picked up a free programme, flag and poster saying "Try". The standard wasn't as bad as I expected and the Sanyo Knights won 35-24. After the game we went to a German bar called "New Muenchen" and had a stein of beer and some food. Myself, Philip and the Wahlrus had to leave everyone there as we were getting the train for the cross country trip to Toyama to stay at Eric's place for a few days.

When we arrived, we went for food, a massive serving of chicken katsukara. After a brief tour of the city of Toyama in Eric's car, we headed to his place. We were stuffed, tired and myself and Philip were a bit drunk and we were giddy much to the annoyance of Eric who wanted to sleep. Eventually we slept at around 3am.
